|Gift cards. Globe trotting. Afikomen. This month’s Rundown packs all of your favorite CJP things into one short ‘n sweet email – so sit back, relax and read on.
THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
Forget the popcorn. (Just kidding, there’s always room for popcorn.) We’ll be rolling out a brand-new way of giving in April that lets YOU give back more than ever. With opportunities including hands-on activities, personalized donation options and social sharing, this is something too fantastic to miss – so keep your eyes on that inbox.
In the Spotlight
Reni Gertner, Chair of the Outreach & Engagement Working Group of CJP’s Executive Committee on Young Adults, talks honey tastings, chairing Chai, and the famous Y2K Summer Mission.
THINGS WE'RE SERIOUS ABOUT
May the odds be ever in your favor
Want to be entered to win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards? While helping Brandeis grad students in the process? Of course you do! Take this small survey about social media, online discussions and talking about Israel to be entered to win.
Third time’s the charm
The third (and last!) deadline for CJP's Young Adult Community Grant applications is April 15. Don’t miss your chance to receive up to $5,000 – or your chance to build an even better Jewish community for Boston’s young adults.
THINGS IN THE CITY
LEADS the way
The LEADS spring session starts April 21... and you can sign up right now! Get cozy in a comfortable home setting and enjoy small group discussions with Jewish young adults in your neighborhood. Contact Emilie at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Globe-trotting for good
This summer, experience Poland AND Israel with us from June 28 – July 8. Check out our info session on March 23 to discover all of the incredible things you’ll experience. To find out more, email Karen at email@example.com.
How suite it is
Join Dr. Ruth and Women’s Philanthropy on April 1 for One Night Stand, the Annual Pomegranate Society & Friends Event! WP’s signature event of the season will be held at the Westin Waltham Boston, and is open to all women who give $500 or more to CJP’s 2015 Annual Campaign.
Party like it’s your birthday
Help Women’s Philanthropy brighten birthdays for kids who otherwise might not have a celebration. On April 12, start the celebrating by putting together birthday bags with goodies, books and gift cards.
We’re on a mission
…to meet an inspiring group of active duty Israeli officers, who’ll share their personal experiences in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). The Hatikvah Officers Mission Events across Boston and the North Shore kick off April 14.
Celebrate good times
Come on! Remember, summer comes early at Celebrate Israel: Boston, where you’ll enjoy a festive afternoon filled with music, art, dance, fun, and ridiculously delicious food. Get event updates now, and we’ll see you May 31.

THINGS WE LOVE
Tweet of the Month
In between national commercials, Comedy Central roasts and Seth MacFarlane movies, Jewish comedian Sarah Silverman regularly shares heartwarming messages while inspiring her almost-6 million Twitter followers.
Blog of the Month
Breaking news + pop culture = perfection. Wondering how Lance Bass handles his interfaith marriage? Want to see just how fierce Ruth Bader Ginsburg looked at the State of the Union? Wondering if the doughka could triumph over the cronut? Jewcy has it all – and more.
Instagram Pic of the Month
All good Jewish mothers know how important it is to let their child fly from the nest. Just not too far. Crazy Jewish Mom is living proof.
THINGS THAT ARE JEWISH
Don’t pass this opportunity over
That’s right, Passover starts April 3! It’s time to get your Seder on. Break out the Afikomen, rehearse the Four Questions, and prep more food than you can possibly eat.
(Speaking of Seders – snap a pic of your Seder celebration and tag us on Instagram or Facebook with #CJPRundown, and we’ll feature one lucky star here next month!)
Bright lights, big city
Get ready, Boston – as spring approaches (and we get more sun!), our Shabbat candlelighting times get later and later. Totally worth it.
And for April:
- March 13 | 6:30 p.m.
- March 20 | 6:38 p.m.
- March 27 | 6:46 p.m.
- April 3 | 6:54 p.m
- April 4 | 7:56 p.m. (after, for Passover)
