THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
Don’t pass these over
Passover may be coming to a close, but there’s still time to enjoy all the holiday has to offer.
Check out JewishBoston.com’s brand-new Haggadah mobile app (talk about a tablet upgrade), or
clean out your Manischewitz stash with their Five Passover Films Drinking Game. Did you know Val
Kilmer starred in “The Ten Commandments: The Musical”? No one did.
What’s current, compelling and community-centric? Why, the brand new CJP blog, of course. From CJP President Barry Shrage’s insights, to Q&As with the one-and-only Dr. Ruth, to four-cups-of-wine-worthy Passover quizzes, The Tribe is where our stories all come together.
THINGS WE'RE SERIOUS ABOUT
The Boston Marathon has never meant more to our community. Whether you’re running, cheering on
the sidelines or watching from home, together we’re 119 years of Boston Strong. (If you’re out on
Marathon Monday, take a picture and tag it #CJPRundown, and we’ll feature you here next month!)
It’s the final countdown
Don’t miss your chance to build an even better Jewish community for Boston’s young adults. You
could receive up to $5,000 for a CJP Young Adult Community Grant – but only if you get your
application in by April 15.
THINGS IN THE CITY
Take us to your LEADer
To infinity and beyond! Sign up for the LEADS spring session now, and starting April 21 you’ll
get cozy in a comfortable home setting and enjoy small group discussions with Jewish young adults
in your neighborhood. Contact Emilie at email@example.com for more info.
The best present there is
On April 12, get hands-on with Women’s Philanthropy to brighten birthdays. Put together bags full
of goodies, books and gift cards for kids who otherwise might not have a celebration.
We need to talk
Ready for a conversation you actually want to have? On April 18, get chatty with Israeli IDF
officers and other young adults at the israel360 Convo-Salon. Learn more about the soldiers’
personal stories, their Jewish identities, diversity in the IDF and more – but don’t wait,
registration closes April 10!
We’re promposaling you
Forget the tiaras and tuxes – this is a Senior Prom you’ll want to attend! On April 26,
join seniors from JCHE for a night of dancing, crafts, and socializing, then meet up with your
fellow volunteers at a local bar for the after party.
Wined and designed
Raise a glass May 5 for Women’s Philanthropy’s year end celebration. At Taste with a Twist,
you’ll sample delicious Israeli wines while making heartwarming Havdalah kits.
Let’s get this party started
Celebrate Israel: Boston kicks off summer on May 31! Don’t miss a fantastic day chock full 'o food,
music, art, dancing and more. Get event updates now, and we’ll see you then.
Can’t get enough of your friends? Want a new way to experience Jewish learning? Then Kevah is for
you! Gather your crew, settle in with a dynamic educator and choose what’s meaningful to you from
a full menu of topics. Contact Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org to start a group this spring or fall.

THINGS WE LOVE
Tweet of the Month
The struggle is real for @JewBoyProblems, where every day maladies like dating, panic attacks and
seder planning are woefully lamented.
Blog of the Month
What’s the difference between a gyro and a shawarma? How do you make the most mouthwatering
falafel waffle? And what on earth is shakshouka? (Spoiler alert: it’s delicious.) Israeli Kitchen

Instagram Pic of the Month
Between behind-the-scenes movie pics and rather…unique outlooks on life, The Interview star James Franco rocks #tbt in more ways than one, harkening back to his Freaks and Geeks days with
fellow famous Jew Seth Rogan.
THINGS THAT ARE JEWISH
It might not be right now, but April marks three important holidays:
- Yom HaShoah – or Holocaust Remembrance Day – is Thursday, April 16. Join us for an early
day of honor and memory Sunday, April 12 at Faneuil Hall, and hear from David Eisenhower,
grandson of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
- Yom Hazikaron – better known as Israel’s official Memorial Day – remembers the fallen
soldiers of Israel and victims of terrorism on April 22.
- Yom Ha’atzmaut – Israeli Independence Day – celebrates the creation of the State of
Israel on April 23, and is the perfect lead-in to Celebrate Israel: Boston!
The times they are a-changin’
That’s right, this month’s candlelighting times are officially in the 7pm zone. Now, if we can
just get the weather into the 70s zone, we’ll be in great shape.
- April 9 | 7:01 p.m.
- April 10 | 7:02 p.m.
- April 17 | 7:10 p.m.
- April 24 | 7:18 p.m.
And for May:
- May 1 | 7:26 p.m.
- May 8 | 7:33 p.m.
