Stay tuned for details about how you can help celebrate them this September.
We have a winner
Remember that survey we sent last month? Everyone who took it was entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Congrats go out to the lucky winner – Stephen Brickman.
Let’s hit new heights
It’s incredibly generous, helps ensure a better future for those in need – and is tax deductible, to boot. Your gift to our 2016 Annual Campaign will help us set a new record for charitable giving. The campaign closes on June 30, so there’s still time to contribute
to the cause this year.
THINGS WE SUPPORTEach year, CJP helps support programs and organizations throughout our community. Here are some of this month’s events we proudly fund.
THINGS IN THE CITY
The New York Times calls it a "shampoo summit," a hair salon in Haifa that just might be an island of sanity - and coexistence - in a troubled Middle East. Join israel360 on June 15 for a special screening of "Women in Sink"
followed by a conversation with Iris Zaki, the writer, producer and director of this award-winning documentary.Calling all ballers
Whether you’re a jock – or not so much – hit the field with us on June 26 to celebrate Yom Sport’s 21st birthday. Run, throw, catch (and smile) as you share the fun with adult athletes of all abilities. Then, you and your fellow volunteers can hit the after-party to keep the good times rolling.
What’s the big idea?
Want to see what some forward-thinking Jewish social entrepreneurs have planned? Then reserve your spot
at this year’s PresenTense Social Innovation Showcase on June 27. The Fellows will share their inventive ventures designed to bring positive change to the community. For more info, please contact Harris at email@example.com
Make your summer shine brighter
Check out JCRC Reach Out!
for a wide array of volunteer opportunities for young Jewish professionals. You’ll see how getting involved just one evening a week this summer can make a huge impact in your community. The greatest thing since sliced…challah
How’s an old-fashioned Shabbat dinner with some new-fashioned friends sound? (Fun and delicious, thankyouverymuch!) For this new program, CJP joined up with OneTable to link people in their 20s and 30s with hosts who share their homes for Shabbat dinner. Get more info on hosting or joining a dinner by emailing Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
THINGS WE LOVEPics of the Month
Prom season is over, but we’re still giddy from the good times at our very own Senior Prom last month. Pics don’t lie
, as the smiles of the volunteers and attendees clearly tell the story. We hear the after-party rocked, too!Pics of the Month: BONUS EDITION
#Squadgoals ruled in our famous photo booth
– but that was just part of the party at Blue & White Night. Many moves were busted as hundreds of young professionals toasted Israel and enjoyed good times with some great people.
THINGS THAT ARE JEWISH
Ce-le-brate good times (come on!)
Here’s what’s happening soon in June:
You light up my life
- Shavuot – Following the 7-week Counting of the Omer period, Shavuot (June 12) symbolizes our freedom from slavery as the people of Israel received the Torah.
Technology’s come a long way, but Shabbat candles still can’t light themselves (yet). So mark your calendar and break out the matchsticks – here are your June candlelighting times:
