WP News November

The season of thanks is upon us — and we are thankful for you!

Thank you for helping us launch an incredible new Campaign year filled with friends, fun, and philanthropy. We began September with a powerful Annual Kickoff event, where we shared our stories and learned more about CJP’s story.

Shortly after, the first ever Philanthropy, Fitness, and Friendship Bike Trip took to the beautiful hills of Vermont. And last month, more than 130 women joined us at our Lion of Judah Annual Luncheon, where we hosted inclusion advocate Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi and honored our own Penny Goodman, winner of a Kipnis-Wilson Friedland Award at the 2016 International Lion of Judah Conference.

In addition, we’ve been cooking together for our WP Cookbook, learning together in our Leadership Development Series, and planning together in our various committee and board meetings. We look forward to building on this foundation in the year to come!

Erin MillerGuest blogger Erin Miller, president of Boston University’s Hillel, shares her campus experience with us on the CJP blog.

Thanks in part to CJP’s IACT® program, which empowers Birthright Israel alums to build community and advocate for Israel on campus, Erin is helping to transform Jewish life at BU.

What began as an idea between friends more than two years ago recently came to life as the first-ever WP Philanthropy, Fitness, and Friendship Bike Trip.

WP leaders Barb Epstein, Susan Bloomstone Herman, Wendy Kraft, and Ellen Segal saw an opportunity to connect women through their shared passions for fitness and activism. Because of their vision, a group of 21 women spent their days biking and hiking through scenic Vermont and their evenings learning about CJP’s Strategic Israel Engagement agenda and IACT, our college campus initiative.

Barb, Susan, Wendy, and Ellen worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail — from the gorgeous accommodations at the Woodstock Inn, to the delicious meals, to the evening programming — was perfect.

A giant Women’s Philanthropy thank you to our four chairs for creating an unforgettable biking adventure!

Want to get involved? You can give securely online, or contact Rachel at or 617-457-8854 to discuss how you’d like to make an impact this year.
