THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
Dance it out
CJP’s annual Blue & White Night celebrating Israel Independence Day is HERE! Join us this Saturday, May 6, at Liberty Hall (formerly Space 57) in the Revere Hotel to dance the night away with hundreds of other young adults. There isn't another event like it — check out the pics from last year! We hope to see you there, so register now.
THINGS WE'RE SERIOUS ABOUT
Wise guys (and gals)
Want to engage with Jewish life and learning, but don’t want to go back to Hebrew school? You’re in luck. Together with our partners, we’ve got everything from small discussion groups in living rooms to an online journey through the Torah. So speak up, join in, and learn on! Want to know more? In this video, Laura Baum, CJP's Associate Vice President for Learning and Engagement, shares why Jewish learning matters.
THINGS IN THE CITY
Water and wine
The Young Women’s Philanthropy Spring Event: An Evening at Mayyim Hayyim is coming up on May 3! Come connect with other young women in our community over drinks, hear personal stories from women who were transformed through ritual immersion in the mikveh, and discover how it has evolved in modern Jewish life.
Leaving on a jet plane
There's still time to join our young adult mission this summer! We're spending 10 days in Prague and Israel for only $2,999, including flights, hotels, and most meals — the only thing that's missing is YOU! For more information, contact Karen at email@example.com.
Have a field day
Yom Sport is coming up on June 4! CJP and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters are looking for volunteers for our annual day of fun for athletes of all abilities. Come make new friends, gain a new perspective, and help everyone involved have a blast.
THINGS WE SUPPORT
Each year, CJP helps support programs and organizations throughout our community. Here are some of this month’s events we proudly fund.
Last chance to join us at The Vilna Shul TONIGHT, May 1, for an evening with Hollywood comedian, character actor, and author Stephen Tobolowsky! He’s been on screen in everything from Groundhog Day to Memento to Glee, and he’s coming to talk to us about his funny and introspective new book, My Adventures with God, A Personal Pentateuch.
Feed your soul
On May 12, join other young adults in their 20s and 30s for an engaging Qabbalat Shabbat service at Temple Israel of Boston. You’ll get the chance to schmooze with the whole Riverway young adult community afterward over drinks and an amazing free dinner! Sounds like a delicious idea…
From May 12-16, JCC Greater Boston is hosting “This Is Hunger” from MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. Challenge your beliefs about who struggles with hunger in the U.S. and why in a 45-minute interactive experience on wheels (literally! It’s in a big rig truck), and get empowered to take action. Register for free tickets, and consider going Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. to share the experience with other young adults. For more information, contact Elizabeth at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 617-558-6483.
Looking for a way to connect with other North Shore young adults? Yachad of New England hosts an evening of fun, inclusive activities once a month at the JCC of the North Shore. Check it out May 17!
Join 150 young Jews from around the country for an escape to Camp Nai Nai Nai in Pennsylvania. This amazing camp getaway weekend for adults over Memorial Day weekend lets you choose your own adventure. Experience super cool playshops (think camp electives, specially crafted for adults!), a camp-wide festival, a zipline, drinks by the lake, sunbathing in hammocks, spontaneous dance parties, an exceptional Shabbat, and so much more!
