As a constituent of Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston (CJP) your privacy is very important to us, and we want to provide you with the following information so that you can better understand our practices when it comes to this increasingly crucial issue.

The main purpose of our Web site and of our email service is to provide information and services to individuals interested in the Greater Boston Jewish community. Your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting it and to making you aware of our online practices regarding the privacy of your information.

CJP uses the information you provide us in order to provide services to you at your request, inform you about services and events that you may find interesting or useful, confirm donations, reservations or other interactions that you undertake within the context of your involvement with CJP.

As a fundraising organization, CJP may use the information that you provide to ask for your financial support.

CJP does not sell or trade our mailing lists with external organizations. Any personal information you provide to us will not be disseminated to third parties outside of CJP. We will, on occasion, fulfill mailing requests on behalf of our beneficiary agencies or other Jewish organizations in the Greater Boston area. We agree to such mailings to promote events or programs that we believe are beneficial to the Jewish community as a whole.

All requests are reviewed internally by CJP and approved by senior staff. In no cases is any information exchanged directly with staff members of other organizations. CJP either does the mailing directly or via a secure mail house. Personal information such as address, demographics, giving levels and histories are never divulged during this process.

At any point in time, you can change your information and your preferences via this system. This will only impact our email communications with you. From time to time we may also contact you to see if you would like to begin receiving emails again.

Should you wish to update your postal address, other information, or preferences, including being removed from any form of contact or a particular form of contact, please contact us via email at or via phone at 617-457-8500 and let us know your preferences.

Through your involvement with CJP, you may be asked to fill out or update information such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone and cell phone numbers, fax number, credit card information or details about your Jewish community interests. This is most often done through donations and reservations that are made on our web site, written out on pledge cards and/or invitation response cards, or taken over the telephone in conversation with a CJP staff member. CJP collects this information for the purpose of serving you better and ensuring that we can easily inform you about programs and/or activities that may be of interest to you. We may also use this information to ask for your financial support.
